Hello boyos and cailíní, new episode of Now That’s What I Call Nostalgia has dropped and, appropriately, it’s a massive retrospective on Irish themed cartoon episodes from the the 90s like Gargoyles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Johnny Bravo and *shudder* Captain Planet and the Planeteers.
Enjoy our pain, you foreign devils you.
I like dragons
Not these ones
Dear Mouse, Happy Saint Patrick’s Day and may all the local ‘Plastic Paddies’ melt in the glare from that grand old preacher their nonsense richly merits (and count themselves lucky they’re not getting a dose of the ‘Nessie Treatment’ from Saint Columba).
Great episode, Mouse. I don’t know, though, don’t you think the Captain Planet episode is growing on you? Two or three more times, you might find it almost tolerable even. 😛
Oh, and you can let Esther know that I’m still back in 2021, so maybe I’ll find her podcast less peaceful as we rejoin the present? … But I doubt it. 😉
Your podcast is excellent, I’ve enjoyed every episode so far and look forward to this one as well. Please keep them coming!
Thanks man. That means a lot.
Excellent episode, Mouse. And great opening quote too.
If you don’t mind me asking, what’s a good curse for the greedy in Gaelic?
I believe that the most Ancient and Traditional of time-honoured Irish curses would have to be “Feck! Erse! Drink!” the precise meaning of which has been lost to the Ages, but which is sometimes freely translated as “Either go away or get me a drink in fair repayment for my not kicking your ****!”
I’m sorry, I’m sorry, but I never outgrew being a know-it-all, so I have to tell you that the horse statue thing is a myth
